Authorities in Rockland County are investigating a fatal two-vehicle crash that left a New Jersey driver dead early Sunday morning on the ramp from Interstate 287 North to the New York State Thruway in Hillburn.
According to New York State Police, the crash occurred when a vehicle driven by Guido De Castro, a resident of New Jersey, struck the rear of an SUV that had come to a stop on the ramp. The impact of the collision caused significant damage and resulted in fatal injuries for De Castro.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene shortly after the crash and transported De Castro to a nearby hospital in Suffern, where he was later pronounced dead.
